Description: Deciduous tree, rounded, bushy
habit, but a strong structure. Leaves are simple, opposite and roundish, with sharply toothed
lobes that extend to within 6-12 mm the end
of petiole. Crimson fall color. Fruit about 2.5 cm
long with wings ranging from horizontal to an
obtuse angle.
Size: 8-10 ft (2.4-3 m)
Climate: Sun to part shade.
History: The species is native to Japan
Aconitifolium: the leaves have an appearance
similar to the fern-like leaves of the genus
Aconitum (Monkshood).
